What would Jesus do?

While Vice President Biden was visiting Israel last week, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu approved the building of sixteen hundred new homes in a settlement right smack in the middle of what Palestinians consider home. On hearing this news, Biden’s reaction was despicable: he had the gall to call these developments insulting and damaging to the peace process.

Hasn’t Joe Biden ever read a friggin’ Bible, for Christ’s sake? Does he not remember that episode where J.C. is slapped in the face by some random guy? What did he think the right response to that was? It was to turn the other cheek! Notice he didn’t open his big mouth.

When Israel slaps you in the face, Joe, by completely ignoring your political wishes despite years and years of support, you mustn’t criticize it. When it makes a fool of you before you’ve even left the country, by promoting the very things you’ve come to cease, you shouldn’t rebuke it. What kind of Christian are you, anyway? Look, I’m a Jew and even I know that. What you must do is accept Israel’s provocative actions quietly and peacefully, and then expect Palestine to deal with it accordingly. They’ll get used to it, believe me. It’s not like we’re pushing them to the point where they have nothing to lose. God, what a philistine!

Eric, Joe has every right to complain whenever anyone slaps him in the face. I don’t believe you know what it feels like, but luckily, I can help you with that.
